A new hangover cure has emerged in a novel form. Can you guess its latest form?
- Alcoholic Beverage
- Ice Cream
“South Koreans, Asia’s biggest per capita alcohol consumers, can now soothe themselves after a big night out with hangover-fighting ice cream.
A convenience store chain has launched the Gyeondyo-bar, which translates as “hang in there” and according to the company is the first ice cream bar marketed specifically to combat the after-effects of alcohol consumption. It hit the shelves on Friday.”
“The ice cream bar is grapefruit flavored, which sounds super refreshing, and contains 0.7% raisin tree fruit juice – a traditional hangover remedy that’s been popular ever since it was mentioned in a Korean medicine book from the 17th Century.
In 2012, a study found that raisin tree extract successfully reduced symptoms of excessive alcohol consumption in rats, so the ice cream could actually work as a hangover fix.”
